Please do not use borders that are designed to create an even margin around the document. A trimming tolerance of +/- 1.5mm must be allowed for.

To ensure nothing ends up too close to the edges of the document and trimmed off, important design elements such as text and logo’s should be kept within the ‘safe zone’ for each product. The safe zone is the distance these elements need to be kept away from the edge of the product. Note: The edge of the product is the finished size, excluding bleed.

Business Cards - 4mm safe zone

Brochures & Flyers - 7mm safe zone

Booklets, Magazines & Calendars - 10mm safe zone recommended

CMYK printing - all document colours must be CMYK (no RGB or PMS colours).

PMS printing - colours must be set to required Pantone colours (no CMYK, RGB or substituted PMS colours).

Colour matching is not offered as part of our standard service, as the majority of orders are ganged together. Variations in colour between print runs is normal due to atmospheric conditions and varying stock properties. As per industry standard, colours may vary by approximately 5%.

Your document size must be the finished size plus bleed on all sides (see bleed section above)

Embedded ‘Print-Ready’ PDF files are preferred.

All text (fonts) must to be converted to outlines or curves where possible. Do not use rich black for text, use 100% black only.

Images should be high resolution CMYK at 300dpi minimum for the intended final size of the image. Any bitmaps containing text should be created at no less than 600dpi for clear, crisp text. Re-sampling images to a higher resolution may cause poor image quality that is not apparent when viewing the file on-screen.

All transparency and/or shadow effects should be flattened.

For a nice rich black on solid designs, use the following values: C: 30%, M: 30%, Y: 30%, K: 100%. Do not use rich black for black text, text should be 100% black only.

Ensure corner trim marks are included on all pages - no registration marks or colour bars are required.

Always supply artwork 1 up. Booklets must be supplied as single page PDF documents including bleed, not as 2 page spreads.

Please note that variations of /- 1.5mm can occur during any guillotining, die cutting or spot UV process. This is considered acceptable and does not constitute a reprint.
